Finally, with belly laughs under control, and little time left before the start of the program, it was time to find out a little more about this man Monckton who has been so vilified by the left in the past. According to Monckton, the global warming hysteria crowd is now employing a new strategy against him. They are trying to simply ignore him because the ad hominem attacks haven't really worked. Monckton said he refuses to respond to such attacks and insists on sticking to the science and economics . As Monckton put it, "I refuse to get involved in slanging' matches." |
| It's still not clear whether or not that was Monckton's attempt at a Texas accent. Monkton says that if the left wants to attack his reputation, he tells them to go ahead. Adding that anyone who dares to speak out against any sort of widespread, supposed consensus is going to get these types of attacks. Monckton points out that the left is monstrously intolerant and "liberal" is a grossly inappropriate way to describe them. According to Monckton, the left is in fact illiberal. They frequently try to marginalize him by saying things like: he just a pontiff peer, he doesn't know the science, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Monckton thinks that they hope if they ignore him, he'll go away and nobody else will pay attention to him either. If that's their actual strategy, it may be time for liberals to re-think this one. According to Lord Monckton, Wikipedia has an individual who is a failed green has an individual who is a failed green and alters the biographies of anyone, party candidate that monitors wikipedia anywhere, who says anything against the Wikipedia alters their biographies to make it look as though they're stupid. Monckton said Wikipedia has become a negative reference in that people look at it and believe the opposite. People often tell Monckton, "we've seen what Wikipedia writes about you, so you must be doing something right." In should be noted that well known skeptic and New York Times best selling author Chris Horner has written about the wiki bias against global warming skeptics in the past. This begs the question: who needs an online encyclopedia with a not so hidden agenda? The final question for Monckton as they were wiring him up and taking him away for a microphone check was are you winning the war? His response was that "the truth matter of the timing."
